Agra’s new chemical manufacturing hub will be the first of its kind in India.
The factory, which will create around 3,000 jobs in five years, is set to begin manufacturing chemicals at the site on October 30, 2018.
The Agra-based company is planning to create 2,000 manufacturing jobs over five years at the facility.
The Agra Manufacturing Hub will be built in the outskirts of the city and is set on the site of the former Alipur factory.
The facility is expected to create around 1,000 permanent jobs and 2,500 apprenticeships.
The centre is set for a total of 50,000 sq m of space, which is expected be used for workshops, supply chain management and assembly.
It will also be the place where Agra Chemicals will manufacture the bulk of its chemicals.
It is also the site for the new Agra Chemical Manufacturers’ Association.
“The centre will have the capacity to produce at least 25 lakh tonnes of chemical products a year.
This is the first plant in the country to be built on the same site.
The facility will help us to create 5,000 new jobs over the next five years.
This will enable us to build new manufacturing plants,” Anand Sharma, Agra Minister of State for Industrial Cooperation, told The Indian Express.
