BARCADOS — BARC’s chemical plants are shutting down at a record pace.
But the government is making it harder to make sure the industries remain operational, leaving many millions without clean water, medicine or even basic goods like milk or sugar.
The government has promised to give more than 4 million residents and businesses money to buy bottled water and food.
But some residents and business owners say the money is not enough and that the government needs to step in.
There is no money for clean water in some areas, which means people can’t wash their hands or drink the water.
There are also no health and hygiene supplies.
And many residents have already begun selling their products, hoping that the prices will fall.
